It’s been a busy summer at artmeltd. We’ve been planning our next moves and most importantly painting in the studio and out and about.
The brilliant weather and the opportunity to paint ‘al fresco’ has meant a return to an old love for T M McGrath – watercolours.
The ease of carrying a sketch book and watercolour paints around has facilitated a series of beautifully imagined watercolours of the northern industrial landscape. Most of the pieces are 12″x9″ on fantastic paper, bought incidentally from the Royal Academy of Art shop and highly recommended. These small vignettes of industrial buildings and landscapes have a light luminosity, calming the eye as we gaze into the haze of the past.
Timeless scenes are set against hills and chimneys in a fantastic palette of greys, pinks, greens and blues. These mini masterpieces are the result of a summer well spent and are available for purchase in original or print form in the Gallery under the ‘Watercolour – Summer 17’ series Www.artmeltd.co.uk/gallery-slumbering-town
