This painting marked a new phase in TM McGrath’s take on the Northern landscape and is the centrepiece of this collection. After feeling uplifted during a walk through the centre of Manchester on a rare sunny day, the artist was inspired to paint Manchester Renaissance to celebrate the city’s emergence from the winter months and the gloom of industrial decline.
