During his fifty years as an artist, TM McGrath has been influenced by many styles from the famous and not so famous artists from the past.

Whilst these have been fascinating and thought provoking, Tom has developed his own inimitable take throughout his career.

Although his art has been varied over the years, themes and colours emerge and re-emerge. Stripes, blocks, interlocking curves and colours are repeated in pieces through the decades.

Over on the blog, Tom shows how the work of other artists continues to motivate him.

With many pieces inspired by his hometown, there is a celebration of colour and living, a homage to the history of the northwest and more abstract compositions.

Artme is focused on showcasing McGrath’s work, which spans several decades, and most of which has never been seen before.

Over time, we will look at his various periods, different styles and bold use of colour and technique.
